Silentfrog is an online marketplace for buying and selling “micro services” (small jobs such as babysitting or raking leaves). The “buyer” can log onto the site and look for available help or can post a request for a given date and time to complete any number of small odd jobs. The “sellers” on the site make email contact with the buyer, and arrangements are made to complete the task.
Silentfrog came to Lokitech based on a referral and asked us to design and build a micro services marketplace for them. One of the first things that they needed in building a new brand was a strong logo. Having already done some marketing and branding research of their own, they knew the general direction they wanted the brand to go. They needed a professional design team to bring those ideas to life and chose Lokitech to do so.
It was determined that they needed a logo that would appeal to a large age bracket due to the nature of the marketplace. The design team decided to focus on the frog because it represents the large but unspoken masses of people that make up the micro services arena, and that element of the name was important to the client. In an attempt to find which look would appeal to a large varied target market, the design team developed many different logos for the project, ranging from conservative to bold and playful.
The frog sitting among the trees was the winning choice as it embodied all the elements that the client wanted; it is conservative but retains a playful feel.
