BuildTopia, Inc.
|
BuildTopia provides the first integrated system allowing homebuilders to coordinate business processes and manage projects on the Internet. Customers are able to coordinate processes and communications — with vendors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, superintendents, sales staff, and homebuyers.
BuildTopia came to Lokitech with two problems, 1) a rapid refactoring and decoupling of the sales functionality currently available in BuildTopia system to be offered as a standalone component (called "BT Sales") and 2) a very rapid time-to-market requirement for several key features.
Within three days, Lokitech staffed a team of developers with deep experience in Java server-side development. Lokitech extended the existing codebase and took advantage of reusable components within the system to develop and "incision" in the system which allowed for quick packaging of the sales functionality as a standalone application. The modifications also allow for further decoupling of other functionality should BuildTopia decide to offer other components as standalone applications in the future.
Once decoupled, Lokitech built a robust, server-side document merge subsystem and a sales force automation module. Combined, these two elements allow sales staff to manage prospects and buyers and create sales campaigns with full document management capabilities.
Within three months, BuildTopia realized a new revenue channel by offering the BuildTopia "BT Sales" product as a standalone application.
